Esthetic Dentures and Partial Dentures
Dentures don't have to look artificial, nor should you need to use adhesive to keep a denture in your mouth. The fabrication of a natural-looking , comfortable and beautiful denture is an art form in and of itself. By taking into account age, hair color, skin tone, eye color, lip support and personality, the Core Smiles team can fabricate a denture for you that fits impeccably well and that looks incredibly natural.
Fabrication of a properly-fitting and esthetic complete denture prosthesis takes time, effort and precision. The materials used to construct a denture, however, vary greatly depending on your preference for a "Premium Esthetic", "Standard Esthetic", or "Economical" denture prosthesis:
Premium Esthetic Denture: Ceramic teeth or premium resin-reinforced ceramic teeth used; custom-tinted prosthetic gum tissue (important for individuals with high smile lines or "gummy" smiles), premium-grade denture resin.
Standard Esthetic Denture: Resin-reinforced teeth used; no custom-tinted gingiva, standard-grade denture resin.
Economical Denture: Standard-grade teeth used (may wear more quickly and require replacement more frequently); no custom-tinted gingiva, standard-grade denture resin.
Denture adhesive should never have to be used if a denture is constructed properly. Denture adhesives contain silicone, which, as you may already know, is extremely harmful to the human body. In excess amounts, silicone can lead to severe digestive disorders and other more serious health problems. If you or a loved one have dentures that require adhesive, it is important that they consult with a specialist as soon as possible. It may be possible to refit an existing denture so that adhesive won't be necessary.
What if I do not have enough bone to keep a denture in place?
For individuals whom have had trouble keeping a denture in place (even with adhesive), dental implants may be an ideal solution. A few dental implants in the upper and/or lower jaw can help stabilize and retain a denture, enabling the individual to chew foods that have more nutritional value.
Dr. Gulizio was expertly trained by a world-reknown Beverly Hills removable prosthodontist who treated celebrities and world leaders back in the 1950's & 1960's. Dr. Gulizio was taught the art of denture construction by understanding the integration of a denture prosthesis within the oral cavity by taking into consideration the oral musculature, bony ridge support and salivary flow. These techniques, along with a keen eye for selecting the right denture teeth based on facial features, eye color, skin tone and personality, have earned Dr. Gulizio incredible respect from his colleagues and peers as an expert in denture construction.
