MEET DR. AMANAT
Dr. Sabiya Amanat joins Core Smiles as a highly experienced pediatric dental specialist with over 2 decades in dentistry. BLS-certified, Dr. Sabiya exhibits an unparalleled passion for children, providing unsurpassed dental care from infancy, teen years through young adulthood including individuals with special needs. Columbia University-educated, she brings to Core a decade-long track record in academics & teaching at Columbia University School of Dental Medicine as well as a comparable track record in private practice. This is further complemented by an exceptionally compassionate attitude towards children, a comforting and reassuring bedside manner and an uncompromising approach to best practices in dentistry.
Dr. Sabiya graduated with a BA degree in Anthropology from Barnard College in 1992 before obtaining her dental degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 1996. She earned her specialty certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in 1998 from the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York (fka Long Island Jewish Schneider Children’s Hospital) with a focus on special needs and medically compromised children. While Dr. Sabiya practiced private dentistry, she also served as an attending dentist at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine from 1999 to 2008. Dr. Sabiya was also an active member of the school’s admissions committee from 2003 to 2007.
As a mother of three, Dr. Sabiya understands the concerns and questions that parents and their children bring to her office. She will support you and your children throughout the entire dental treatment process, providing excellent, specialized care end to end. Dr. Sabiya’s goal is to help your younger child understand that dental visits can be fun and exciting adventures, your older child to feel comfortable and engaged, and all young adults to learn that oral health is a crucial component of a long term daily wellness routine. Dr. Sabiya develops a caring relationship with your child such that exams and procedures go as smoothly as possible and the diagnosis and treatment of cavities and other dental issues can be managed in the early stages, minimizing the need for extensive treatment and building a foundation for long term good oral health.

Dr. Sabiya has lived in Long Island and Manhattan all of her life and enjoys spending time with her 3 sons in Manhattan.
