same day dental implants: all-on-4®

The All-on-4® concept:

teeth in a day

The All-on-4® concept is based on the idea that just 4 dental implants can be used to replace a full upper or lower set of teeth. The replacement teeth are fixed directly into the implants and are not removable.

What is All-on-4® dental implants nyc?

According to recent research, more than 175 million Americans have lost one or more teeth - and this number is expected to grow over the next few decades. Fortunately, modern advances in science and dental technology have led to the invention of dental implants - prosthetic fixtures made of titanium or ceramic that are surgically implanted in the jaw to take the place of a natural tooth root. After a healing period of 3 months in which the body’s bone physically attaches to the dental implant fixture, a single tooth, few teeth or a full set of upper are lower teeth can then be connected to the dental implant. All-on-4® is a minimally-invasive procedure that incorporates the placement of just 4 dental implants to support a full upper or lower set of teeth. With the All-on-4® concept, the typically healing period of 3 months after surgical implant placement is not necessary. This is because when 4 implants are placed into healthy jawbone and then immediately connected to a full set of upper or lower teeth, the forces that would normally cause failure of a dental implant actually help to strengthen the implants’ connection with your jaw bone.

Teeth in a Day: The All-on-4® Concept NYC

The All-on-4® treatment concept requires meticulous planning. At Core Smiles, we carefully plan your treatment by completing a comprehensive examination, taking digital scans of your existing teeth and a 3-Dimensional X-ray, known as a CBCT. The CBCT allows us to visualize how much bone you have so that we can virtually plan implant placement, ensuring that no vital structures are impacted during surgical implant placement. Once we have planned implant placement with computer-assisted technology, we then place 4 dental implants under local anesthesia; at the same visit, we will then connect a full set of upper or lower teeth to the 4 dental implants.

how to choose the right dentist in nyc when considering all-on-4®?

It may seem like almost every dentist in NYC is providing the All-on-4® concept; however, it is important to consider the credentials and experience of the dentist when making your decision. Shopping around for the best price isn’t always the best option either - if you’re seeing All-on-4® provided for less than $10k, then it is highly likely that the dentist is using dental implants that are cheaper, not FDA-cleared and not thoroughly researched for human use. These are the questions you should be asking when considering a dentist that will place your dental implants:

  • What are his/her credentials?

    • Are they a specialist or have they had extensive training in dental implant placement?

    • Are they certified to place dental implants?

  • What is their experience level?

    • How long have they been placing dental implants?

    • How many dental implants have they placed?

  • What type of dental implants are being used?

    • Ask if they are using implants that are FDA-cleared, and not copies (or “clones”) of dental implants that have been well-researched

    • Are the implants being used well-researched and clinically-proven to be safe and effective, according to the dental literature?

At Core Smiles, we have a team of specialists and certified general dentists with extensive experience in dental implant placement. We use advanced technology to plan your implant placement to ensure that the end-result is predictable, esthetic and successful.
